On Win7 Homegroups my network keeps changing to "Unidentified" ?
Hi, I'm totally new to wireless networking. I purchased a wireless adapter for my second pc at home and setup a Home wireless Network. Everthing seemed to work for awhile, but the other day one of my pc's settings changed to an "Unidentified" Public Network even though I had it set up to "Home". My Network name was let's say "123" and still is "123" on my other pc, but changed on the second one to Public and Unidentified. Can anyone tell me why this would happen and how I can change it? When I go to the "Network Property" box where it says to type a network and choose an icon, it won't let me type the "123" network nme in there. It just stays at "Unidentified". Thanks.

Hi, You may kindly refer to the following steps: 1. Update your network adapter’s driver to latest version. 2. Uninstall the adapter, then try to reinstall it. Can you access the Internet? Also, the following link for your reference. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dimeby8/archive/2009/06/10/change-unidentified-network-from-public-to-work-in-windows-7.aspx If the issue still persists, please post the ipconfig/all result back. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Thanks for the help. I uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter and that did the trick. Thanks again.
